Liberty Battery Drainage Prevention Function

Postby hendo » Mon Apr 16, 2012 11:41 am

Hi,
I have been having a lot of trouble with my battery going dead in my MY07 Liberty. While it's not a "silver bullet" solution, but how do I activate the "Battery Voltage Prevention Function" on my car without taking it to a Subaru Dealer?

:)

Going dead is preventing you from getting battery voltage, so whats your problem?

Is there such a thing as a 'battery drainage prevention function'? I think I have heard of something that cust off the battery as soon as it senses its nearing the point where it wont start the car, but not sure where...

The bit I just found for Subaru says its on by default, set at factory....if it applies to AUDM cars. Try leaving a door cracked for 20mins and see if interior lights go out. Note that the red door bottom lights ARE NOT included in this function - Why TF not ?

Death is nature's way of telling you to slow down.

I dont think that works because my boot was left opened and it drained my battery low enough that the horn wouldn't work.

My 08 GTB starts to shut down systems as the voltage drops. the sat nav goes first then the stereo. once it got to the point where it shut the air con controls off (screen went blank) but the fan came on when the car was started but the screen was still off.

I had the same problem. My advise FWIW. Go and buy an Odyssey PC1200MJT. You will have it for probably the life of the car.
These things are great and 10 X better than any factory battery. They have a full metal jacket and weigh about 17kg.
I bought mine of eBay for $350.00 and haven't looked back and mine is running a fairly heavy dut stereo for sometimes hours without the motor on.
Stinger make one the same spec a bit cheaper which is just as good.
I got mine from

Richard.
Hertz HDP5, Audison BitTen, Crescendo 8.6, Morel Ultimo SC10.
Parrot CK3100 and Advanced Ice I-pod thingy.
