Not too sure one what an emu sounds like, but it the BOV adjustable? Maybe wound on too tight. Might be compressor surge / flutter?

The only other way to explain the sound is you know those bumps/lines in the road they put in country roads to make drivers more alert (i assume thats what theyre for) and when you drive on them your car resonates, thats what it sounds like but for a second after lift off.

It won't fit a 3 ltr. And that is a very cheap price I had people interested in mine for $300 or $350 I think
