Hi!
My name is Jonathan, I live in sydney and im on night shift atm, that is why im writing at this unholy hour.
Anyways, Im not a Liberty owner but plan to be...
My previous cars were a lancer (rubbish) an fto (chicks car i know, but i loved it!) and more recently an rx8.
The rx8 was a bomb n absolutly loved it but i had to sell it due to my baby girl being born and having to move out of home.
Now that im a family man im looking for a family car ie: a fast family car. the only car i drive atm is my misses mazda 2
so that makes me esentially car-less...

Anyway (im dragging this...) im planning to buy a 07-08 gt spec b manual towards mid or end of this year and i wanted more info about this car.
Differences between 06, 07 and 08 models? ; are they relatively easy to mod and tune? ; is it the same if i just buy a normal gt?

my budget will be 35k tops so i know i can get a decent one whithin price range..
Thanks all for any info!

Welcome Jono, the gen 4 Liberty's got a facelift in 07 (exterior)... & then in 08 (interior) - those were the main obvious differences to me.

Definitely easy to mod & tune. The spec-B comes with Bilstein, but of you plan to mod the suspension then get the normal GT. Actually, get the normal GT if you plan to mod anything... no point in paying extra for "special" items & then paying to get those "special" items changed out (if I knew of this forum before I got my car, I wouldn't have gotten my tbSTi).

Welcome, my tip is to find a trustworthy broker at an auctioneers (e.g. Jose at Carlins), or even a car finding service.
Get a 6MT '07 or '08 GT-B or TBSTi coming off a lease from new and you'll have hit paydirt!
I found mine on Carsales.com, perfect STi service history, very average cosmetics, 150K high kays: bargain price paid for a nicely run in car :D

That info is definitely on the site! Pre is more hardcore, post more refined. For mods - you'd have to research that :)

Welcome :)
Try to get along to one of the Sydney meets. They won't tell you to piss off just becuase you don't have a Liberty yet ;)
Much easier to ask questions and look at cars then. :)

Welcome, Jonathan!

As Ric has mentioned above, going to a meet is probably a good place to start; we've got one coming up on the 27th if you're keen! There'll be a few Libs there and it's a good opportunity to meet some of the guys on here too!
