Which fuel r u using?

I enjoy it and it betters me as a tuner. Some people are happy with there dyno sheet and peak power number with a fudging of stock maps for rest of the tune, im not. I've got an hour to drive to work and home, plenty of alone time as I have kids at home for my 'life' as you put it.

It's not fast and furious if that's why you are thinking, no . 3 buttons on the v2 ad I pull the sd card out and check the logs, pretty simple really.

I know a Shell Service Station in Sydney where you can obtain RON100 (over the counter sales at that).

In my 2.5i I am using either:

Shell V-power 98
Mobil Synergy 8000

Is the car able to modify it's way of handing fuel after a couple of tanks or does it need to be tuned? Pretty sure that Subaru have mine setup for 91-95 only. I asked the dealer to fill it on 98 the first tank but no way of knowing if they did what they agreed too or just save $1 by going cheap?

Most factory tunes have a high & low octane table set to accommodate the use of different fuels. Monitored by knock and fuel trim dictates the table it takes spark from.

Generally takes one or two tanks to adjust the long term fuel trims to suit the fuel being used. Most factory tunes ping pretty bad anyway believe it or not.

I'll put mine on the corn if it doesn't make the power and when I can buy it in shepparton, but I need bigger injectors and surge tank cause my pumps only good for 500hp

To all the mexicans. The shell servos on the westgate freeway have been taken over by united. They will have corn juice pumps.

I wonder if turnover dropped once Vicroads made the outbound one so much harder to get to.

Inbound is closing soon as part of that land developing they are doing. Good as I've had to use that shell a couple of times and it was very poor

Spot on, from what i was told (not sure on the accuracy) united only wanted to take over the inbound shell servo but had to take over both sides..

All of this past week shell inbound have been giving out 16cents off discount tidkets to use at surrounding shell servos, I'm stocked up

I went back to bp ultimate after a bit of testing the only benefit of the united100 was erasing any knock from the added timing but didn't better any power/economy. For n/a application anyway to me isn't worth it whilst f/i motors should theoretically benefit from the ethanol blend. I am guessing the united100 is more a 95ron and bumped upto 100 with the 10% ethanol mix and would feel a better fuel would be a 98 base and see a 100-110 rating.

Premium 100 is a high performance petrol with an octane of 100, which is the highest rating available in the Australian market. Ethanol is a natural octane enhancer - adding 10% ethanol to petrol boosts its octane number and its performance. Ethanol helps the other components in petrol burn more completely. I found it weird that the results weren't there, fuel economy was about the same and looking through logs no real performance gain. I got a bit more timing in and roughly 18% more fuel into it with no gain, and with a price on par with 98 when by rights should be cheaper I don't see value.

Also a bit of testing was done on the dyno with a different car and surprisingly dropped in the midrange & peak torque/power.

Also to remember back in the day Shell released v-power racing, 5% ethanol to bump its RON rating to 100. United uses a 10% ethanol blend to make 100RON rating, speculation I know but to me united starts with a lesser fuel to begin with. V-power racing was excellent and I don't know why they dropped it.

I'm going to go back to e85 soon and run the clubby on it as I'm selling the Senator and have put the tune back to std. It's the future and we should embrace it for normal driving not just to wring every last kw out of our cars
