Which fuel r u using?

I wont touch it till every service station in Australia has E85 .

Its hard enough to find in metro areas what happens when you get 60k out side. What a load of cock .And when the red head carbon tax comes in the price will go through the roof due to power cost to produce it :roll:

I'm lucky that I have 3 servos nearby that I pass daily to get to work plus with the efilive controller I can have 5 switchable tunes so if it wasn't available no stress. I stopped using it as I do over 500klms a week and cost effectiveness wasn't there.

The price is already putting it on par with 91ulp and less klms a tank is making it not a feasible option by any means. Same fate will come to e85 as what is happening to LPG.

I get 600km from a tank of E85, more if I'm careful as the amount of timing you can run on lean cruise and still keep chamber temps down is ridiculous.

Have just come back from a few days in Noosa (150km away). Left with about 3/4 of a tank, did lots of driving while up there, including a blat through the hills ... but will have to buy fuel today (E85 of course).

Netbook was in the car anyway, so real world use in a Liberty is not "a load of cock" and the stuff is made by fermentation hence is not electricity intensive at all.

Sorry to post real world info rather than bullshit made up from the stuff I used to know a little bit about. I'll get back to work and leave you to Buddah's ignorance.

United has its own processing plant in dalby which is I gather green efficient and gets exemptions for producing 'green' fuels.

I was getting 420ish klm to a 65l tank with EQ spot on for all loads retaining the maf. I feel though I could improve but am selling the car so having the techedge and v2 sitting in it doesn't look appealing to a prospective buyer.

None of that stuff matters, Ash.

When you can run up to 10 degress more timing, while reducing combustion chamber temps ... the stuff needs to be compared to C16, not 95RON rubbish.

It's up to 20% more power, with increased reliability. Show me any other change that gives you that result and I'll do it too.

Sorry to take this a bit off topic but does anyone have a list or site where E85 can be bought around Australia.

I'd be happy to give it a crack but there just isn't an accurate list of availability for Melbourne on the internet.

The caltex website lists where all the sites are, try looking on there. Not sure how to find out which United stations sell it...

I went that road an tuned to over what I would normally with pulp. To be honest I pushed as far as I could go until I was getting converter slip as it kept making power, seen by predicted torque in the logs. I'd like to run it in the r8 but that's my partners car and I can't really expect her to drive out of her way to fuel up.

I don't doubt how good it is, I've witnessed it with a mates car on the dyno with timing a good 5*+ more than the same with pulp, no KR at all and was happy taking more and more fuel and showing on the graphs. torque was close to 1400nm, big converter though but still ridiculous for effectively is a stock motor/cam with shaved heads
