GenIV interior pics.

Postby garbo41610 » Thu Apr 05, 2012 5:43 pm

Hey all,

Just wondering if anyone has any photos of a GenIV GT, GT-B, 3.0R/R-B rear doors without the door card on. I am on extended leave from work at the moment due to some mental health issues arising from my back issues (I'm told there is no stigma attached to mental health problems, so be kind). Anyways, the long service leave and sick leave etc is drying up and need to supplement the inevitable lack of income and have been lucky enough to be invited to "tender" on a pretty full on audio install on a GenIV GT-B through a family friend. I need to get my head around a few things before I can put together a firmish SoW and need some photos of the following:

1 - Rear doors without the door cards.
2 - Front footwells kind of looking up to the underside of the dash.
3 - A, B and C pillars.

If anyone could send me some, point me in the direction of or even take some high res pics that would be fantastic. In return all I can offer are a very detailed thread pending a successful bid and an ok from the owner,my undying gratitude and your choice of mouth or hand relief.

I can't go into too many details just yet but at this stage as it's only in the planning phase atm but it's looking to be around about $1,500-ish per door, about $3k in the boot and around $6k in hardware. Best part is the car has to be useable during the build so it will be done bit by bit giving me time to thoroughly plan each aspect and give me a somewhat liveable income instead of working my ass off and getting a lump sum at the end of the install.

Thanks ya bunch of fu... err... legends.

Phil.

I used Google image search with the terms "site: forum.liberty.asn.au dynamat" and found this thread:
MY07 Sedan Sound Deadening review (w/o stereo upgrade). Pics of de-trimmed doors with Dynamat being applied.

Workshop manual for MY07. I'm DL-ing that now, so it's still active.
Having that will help with trim removal: EXTERIOR INTERIOR TRIM

Grab some trim removal tools from eBay...
This project "sounds" very... therapeutic! :D

Awesome, thanks for that. I thought I had seen some rear door pics on here but couldn't quite remember.

Thankfully one of the requirements is for everything to look completely stock so there isn't much requirment for too much fabrication and working on car audio installs one of the only things that seems to keep me somewhat "sane".

I think I'm right for tools ;-) After working on car audio since I was about 14 there isn't much that hasn't been acquired that is required. There isn't a wall left uncovered in the man cave under the house or as it has come to be known "The Fritzl Room" that crazy Austrian bastard.

I'm glad the links may be of use. 8)

I'm stockpiling parts and info for an Anycarlink and wagon reverse camera install.
I may look at putting flannel wrap on any wiring in the tailgate door and upgrading the sound deadening in there too.

So is eBay the place to get the trim removal tools, eager for your opinion?

Hey bud,

You can get some pretty decent sets off eBay or Autobarn, Supercheap Auto and the likes. They aren't terribly expensive and will save you much heartache and your interior will love you for it.
