Help clear CEL - Melb

Postby Harrybob » Fri Apr 06, 2012 1:24 pm

Is anyone in Melbourne able to help me clear a CEL, or tell me if it is something I can do myself?

Any idea why you're car has a CEL.

And whereabouts in Melbourne are you located so that perhaps someone close to your location can contact you.

If out east I'm happy to take a look though I've never hooked Learning View up to the Subaru 6. Though it should work.

Unplugged maf and started the car for about a minute before realizing.

I'm in Clayton but am willing to travel.

I understand it's good Friday and the long weekend so wasn't really expecting anyone to be available but thought I'd try.

You're welcome!

Nice to meet you too.

Your call looks sweet with some nice tasteful mods.

Come to some of the meets and check some pretty special H6 Libs with superchargers and talk to the guys about their tuning experiences.

Not sure on that one JP. I do know some are supposed to, but HarryBob has a H6 so I couldn't rear his error code to research it.

I could only reset the ECU with Learning View.

I would've thought however he would have had restarted the car five times when trying to sort out the issue as he did receive other advice from members. He doesn't live far from me hence I offered the ECU reset if he knew exactly what he'd done wrong to trigger the CEL.

You can clear this CEL with 5-7 starts, I did this once and my mechanic freind (ex sti docklands foremen) cleared the CEL via this method.

I tried the restarting the car 10 times in succession after reading it somewhere else on the forum and the CEL still remained :-?

I had a similar issue this week with a BIU error after trying to start the car with a flat battery (shows up on odometer) that wouldn't clear.
complete disconnect of battery and re-connect sorted it

if it still remains after that then you most likely need to attend to what ever is causing the CEL
