CD player and climate control

Gday guys,
I drive a 97 Liberty (BG) Gen 2 RX 2.5 wagon. It has the original cassette head unit and A/C controls(button and slide type knobs).
The 98 RX(BG) Gen 2 and heritage libertys came standard with a CD player and Digital(Automatic) climate control Which I would like to upgrade to.

Can these 2 things be swapped out for my cassette and A/C controls by simple "plug and Play"?

What type of climate control does you car currently have? cable type or electric? I have a feeling that they will not be easily swapped over. Though anything is possible with $$$ and time.

I'd probably just swap the cassette player with a new aftermarket unit to be honest. Which is definitely do-able.

Well all I can say is it has the standard type from the factory, same as GX or so It looks or eailer model RX(97)
Is that cable or electric?

I am unfamiliar with older liberties but if it's like any other dial/knob type it would be cable. In which case you'd need to swap out wiring harnesses, along with other hardware you don't see behind the dash. Not a cheap/easy job.
