I totally agree with that statement, I once got sent over the pits on a big anti HOON operation night, I was like yes sir no sir & just played dumb. So they let me off with only the major stuff with no fine & just a verbal warning for the rest.
Then this young DUDE in a Mini Truck (Hilux) comes in after me & was mouthin off F this, F that your all a bunch of pigs etc etc. & left with an arm length of defects with a fine for each one. HA HA HA

I got pulled over on the bike a few years back for 'Racing the speed limit'.

Officer thought I was a bit quick off the mark, it never eventuated to a ticket as I never broke the speed limit and I was not racing anyone, was a really strange thing that served no real purpose. I mean I knew the cop was right behind me, why would I do something stupid? Maybe he was just young and didn't understand bikes with 180kg and 170hp will always be quicker to accelerate than a 1700kg car? Who knows.

On the topic of QLD cars, Bruce highway frequently has an unmarked silver SS and a blue Camry Sportivo (ha ha, yeah right) trying to push you over the limit

I've had the odd cops pull me over for no reason in the suburban streets just a block from my house, didn't really give a reason why - just told me to be careful..

I'm like ooookay.. and this is just driving around at 50km in the streets.. maybe they didn't like me going into corners at 50km as well lol..

This is my 5th year on my license and i have never been once pulled over *touch wood* and have only had to do 1 rbt at those roadside setups, rest of the time i've always been waved though. Does that mean i drive like a grandma?

Ha ha ha, I have been pulled over twice, let off twice and rbt'd less than 10 times and that is after driving 17 years - I call it more luck than anything, definitely not due to my driving style.

There's no specific law on how fast you can accelerate.
It all comes down to the cop's perception of if you are driving in a reckless manner, so it's not just outright acceleration, it's what the road conditions, surrounding traffic etc. etc. are like.
(and also what attitude you take with the cops when they pull you over for a chat )

I got pulled over once after I supposedly took a right-hand turn too fast - in front of the cop car, only because he was being a prick doing 40km/h in a 60 road. He asked me why I was turning fast, I told him I didn't think it being dangerous or reckless as he was travelling very slow, he checked my license and gave it back.
