Select the iPod by pressing disc (CD) twice, to get to CD changer mode.

iPod functionality is pretty basic - next/previous track is very slow, the Mcintosh unit doesn't remember random/repeat settings when you turn off the car, and if you disconnect the iPod, it takes you back to playlist one (all playlists) every time.

How long does yours remember the last song?
with mine, stop starting through the day is fine but if i leave the car for a couple of hours it goes back to the first song on play list 1.
Plus as you said when ever you turn the car or radio off even for a short time it defaults back to disk repeat, when i may have had it on random, gets very annoying

Mine does that too sometimes... I think it depends on your iPod battery more than the Mcintosh unit.

I think that sometimes the iPod doesn't turn off, so it flattens itself. I've found that a few times, no music (headunit shows "NO MAGAZINE"), iPod shows nothing, then the Apple logo, then starts up.

I got mine from the USA courtesy of eBay. That'd be my recommendation.
