carbon fiber interior wrap 05 liberty gt

Postby sean567 » Sat Mar 03, 2012 4:24 pm

Did a quick search and couldnt find anything threads about carbon fiber interior wraps. Has anyone done this? If so any advice or pics?
I have been considering it for a while i think it looks great on the interior...i found these on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Subaru-Legacy-0 ... 70&vxp=mtr

Would it peel as soon as we get hot weather? Any advice how how to improve the bond without ruining the original interior?

Has anyone seen templates for cutting pieces from sheets of 3m carbon wrap?

I'm thinking of doing this very soon

viewtopic.php?f=24&t=15585&hilit=+carbon

I'm just going to wrap myself the sides and door handles as shown in above thread, and buy a sheet of 3m Carbon Fibre vinyl off eBay

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3M-Carbon-Fi ... 265wt_1002,

you could also just wrap your own parts of the interior yourself, i have seen this done before :)

also viewtopic.php?f=6&t=15739 to help

Yeah, hot weather will slowly wreck the CF wrap. I have not see pre-cut templates before. The guys here usually get a roll and wrap whatever needs wrapping with extra around the edge, so it can be tucked under and give some extra "support" I suppose.

Buy a roll off ebay for $10. More than enough to do anything you want inside the car.

Heres mine....

I wonder id that support would be needed if the bits are precision cut in the kits they should hold hey... reading the b&i
website it comes with a lifetime warranty...

Mine wasnt 3M. I couldnt say how durable it was as I only had it on for a bout 3 months and then took it all off although Ive left the steering wheel controls wrapped and Ive had no issues so far.

The same way they went on.

The door handle you just pull down hard, twist and it'll pop off. The centre console trims you have to remove the centre console then shifter surround to access the screws that hold it on.

I got the genuine stuff, the parts that came off was when I didn't cut enough to wrap around the edge. These are all on the outside of my old celica, so being exposed to direct sunlight everyday, one corner is showing signs of fatigue. Other than that, it still looks fantastic.

yeah i don't know how they went on :P i sorta get how the door handle comes off, this is a noob question as I've never removed any parts of my interior before, how do i remove the centre console? is there a step process within the owners manual?
