Nearly everything is in here to start with.
If it's about your car, or Subaru's in general, put it in "Subaru Chat".

normally use about 38kpsi for tyre pressure and mainly highway driving.
im not looking forward to know how much im up for replacements

just out of interest, has the wear been even on all four and on the tyres individually? one thing i've found is that it's ultra important to find a good alignment mob. i'm the sort of guy that when pedders are doing a "$14, 28 point safety check" i'll still pay $110 for a 4 wheel alignment.

adam

yes the wear has been even,i had the original wheel alignment re done by subaru as i wasnt happy with it when i purchased the car.i had one further allignment at blacktown,so maybe that helped with the even wear.

has any one got a recommened allignment place around liverpool??

Next time ur in blacktown (crimetown) drop by Toyota for a coffee and say hi.

Any decent pedders or midas should do the job. I heard Heasmans are good but pricey. No bad stories there.

37,000km? I have about 1mm to the wear indicators and I've only got 18,000km on the clock. The Potenza's do drift nicely this worn though 8)
I do give the thing a hard time in the twisties though, like bike, like car. Any muppet can go fast in a straight line.

hey MIB,

i only got about 19000kms from my potenzas.... not much more than you
that's pretty shocking though cos I didnt think I drove that hard.

I've got Yokohamas on now... they better last at least 25000kms, else I'm gonna have to start driving 40km/h everywhere.

I bought my car with 20,000ks, original tyres and they are seriously like new. Kind of helps that the previous owner was a nice 70 year old sedate driver. I might break some records given I reckon I could get another 25k out of them.

I was in the same boat, bought the car with about 20,000 on the clock.
still with the RE050's I don't think I changed them until I was at about 70,000Km's or so.

They were very good on wear, but not a cheap option when you go to replace them.
Although I've now got a cheap set of Chinese tyres on the car, and they are terrible. Lots of road noise and they were shagged in 25,000Kms. But for $120 a corner you can't expect much.

Ya bunch a hoons.
I've done 43,000km, and the back tyres are still original, with about 5mm to the wear indicators!
(The fronts are only a bit newer because I destroyed a tyre on a tour around South Australia, driving for a long distance with a screw through the tread :()

Mate you must live in the Nullarbor Plain area of Western Australia 70 000??
I was very happy with 17000 k on the 07 3RB which was 10 000 better than I did on another car
My old track driving instructor would always say their is nothing like a corner to wipe off excess speed breaks are for wimps LOL

I moved the bald shouldered fronts to the back and have babied the tyres and now have 22,000km (and a bit, can't remember, i have booked in for 25k service so it may be closer to that) on them but they are well shagged and not very grippy, christmas kays back and forth on the highway are the only reason they have got that far.
I found it interesting when I booked in for service, Subaru had the cheapest price on 050's I have been quoted (for the 18's). Bridgestone was 445 a tyre, Subaru 430. They also recommended the Yoko V03 at 360.

I have no idea how you'd get 43k out of these tyres Ric, have you had it on jackstands Ferris Bueller style?

Given that the car costs more in depreciation than it does in tyres, I'd rather wear them out in 20,000 interesting km than 50,000 boring ones (that's what Dunlop wearing Falcons are for).

Not that mine look like they have any chance of lasting 20,000km.

i agree with coyote.... when it gets to the point where i'm having more fun going around corners in an Echo.. it's time to get new tyres. I could probably have made mine last for another 3-4000kms but everytime I turned a corner I got annoyed.
