100k service

Postby ciaran » Wed Feb 29, 2012 7:06 pm

Hey guys, I've got my 100,000km service coming up on my MY06 3.0r Spec.b
I'm in the Melbourne area and i was wondering if anyone here could list a good place to get such a large service done?
I'm happy to pay a fuck ton and take it to subaru mentone if i hear enough good things about it. But i'd really like to get peoples opinions and story's about their 100,000km service.
I'm really interested in how the team at where you were addressed any concerns you may have had, and if you found out later that they ripped you off or replaced something unnecessarily....

Cheers, Ciaran

Can't help you with Melbourne Subaru, but I just had my 2005 RB Liberty B Spec 100,000 service yesterday at Tweed Head Subaru (Cricks). Total $1095.11

Also had the drivers side CV Boot replaced and the CV cleaned out and repacked cost $311.30!! (think I got ripped off on that!)

I've had all my servicing done at Glen Waverley Subaru, and always found them pretty good.

Why is a 100k service so expensive?

Its a timing chain engine. I'd be going to a non subaru mechanic who is a subi specialist. Plenty around Brisbane I could recommend who dont take advantage of this magic figure like it means anything with an EZ30.

You guys have listed pretty hefty prices for the 100,000km service. But found the following 2 websites.

- http://www.fixedpricecarservice.com.au/ ... u/liberty/
- http://www.google.com.au/url?sa=t&rct=j ... FPBWt9Ux2A

Each of those pages give a quote for a log book service. Each list prices as up to approx $600 for the 100,000km service.
Then the 112,500km service is the big one at about $900.

Does that seem right to you?
