Burglars Foiled Last Night

Hey all.

Having had the wagon broken into 3 times in 13 months I put an alarm in just before Xmas.

Had the first subsequent attempt by the local kids to break in last night.

Neighbour heard them slam the drivers door just as the alarm went off.

Of course they were gone by the time I woke up and opened the front door. Otherwise I would've set the dog on them - all 65 kg of him!!!

Hopefully now they'll leave it alone. :twisted:

Unfortunately yeah, Tom. They've gotta do something to set it off, unless you put one of those proximity sensors on it which would drive the neighbours nuts as the car's parked on the street.

It's also got ultrasonics and a motion detector.

I want the car security system they had advertised in one of the Robocop movies. Where the thieves bring in, and because they weren't an authorised driver, they were electrocuted to death via a million volts transferred through the driver's seat.

When the own got back, they just opened the door, chucked out the smoldering carcass, and drove off. If only life were that simple.

Use the dog as an alarm? Man he sneeps deeper and snores louder than me LOL

Alarm was fitted by Advanced Vehicle Security at Petersham - same building as Ryda.

It's a Metasystem alarm and is an extension of the in-car security system so works off the buttons on the key.

Wouldn't work in the sedan since the seats don't fold down.. that bugged me hardcore.. BUT the monkey could fit through the middle if it was small enough
