Hi from sydney!!!

Postby Shadow110 » Sat Feb 25, 2012 8:57 pm

Hey everyone,

I'm Will, nice to meet you all...I'm 28, I live in the hills area of Sydney (castle hill) and last November got myself a clean Liberty 2.5 premium Ed. And so far it has probly been the best car I've ever owned!
Haven't touched the car yet just getting used to the different feeling of a boxer...

Hope to maybe meet other people as well. Cheers! :-)

Could have been, there are a few liberty.asn members around the hills area as well as quite a few Subyclub.com members too so could be anyone. Keep an eye on the Gatherings NSW group for upcoming stuff, any plans for the liberty yet?

Looking mainly to go for handling and brakes... Nothing extreme just drive and love it.
I'm thinking along the lines of Sti shocks and springs, Sti quad tips. And maybe wheels...

Yeah good choice, the Sti springs and shocks are good but depending on your budget you could look at coil overs, I am installing a set of Tech S Tein springs to go over my Blitzen shocks next week. The STI quads come up for sale every now and than, I think there is a set on Ebay right now.

Everyone gets the modifying bug, I bought my Spec B thinking why would I need to Modify it, its already quick enough, handles well etc but after my first Liberty meet and seeing what could be done Ive done a bit already and still planning more to be done.

Start with upgrading the front & rear swaybars - they make a massive improvement in handling and is the best bang-for-buck mod you can do. And consider a tune to unlock some of the hidden potential in the car too.

Braking can be improved through simple changing of rotors and pads - look at DBA4000 and EBC Green Stuff, or you can go to the extreme of replacing the brake calipers and rotors with bigger ones altogether such as GT-B's or Brembo's from a wrecker (but this is overkill for an NA car).
I was going to procrastinate, but I put it off...

Is it normal that the bushes on the lower front control arm to give up? I've read somewhere that's common...

Welcome to the forum. :D Wish I had a sunroof!
I got this plan. It's called 'Save Ass'. And the way it works is this - I slip outta one of these windows and I run like a bastard!
