How to remove door trim accent

Postby jakey » Wed Feb 22, 2012 8:17 pm

Hey all - I am being a copy cat and applying vinyl to my trims, I can't for the life of me get this bugger off though, do I need to unscrew the screw behind the door handle, etc?

Thanks guys -

Red arrows I can get behind and get a lot of leverage - the green arrows I can't even get behind

Pretty sure it's just stuck on with glue.. I know this cause my rear drivers doors one had fallen off and was in the glovebox when I bought the car (took me a while to figure out what the hell it was :p)

I recommend using some trim removal tools:
http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_from ... Categories

For the handle, slot in a long flat edge at the top of it where it meets the door, and gently (actually a bit of force) pry outward, as it comes out, stick the tool further in and keep prying, eventually it will just click off. There is another method described here http://iagresearch.com.au/index.php?opt ... iew&gid=44 .

I still haven't worked out how to get the other bit off :(
