Shell V Power Racing

Has anyone tried Shell, V-Power Racing (100 Octane with 5% ethanol)?

This is my second fill and am noticing a considerable improvment in acceleration. Not so much from a standing start, but at speed, say from 80-100+

Yeah I find it alot more responsive in higher revs.

Use to only use BP Ultimate.

1st fill up was BP ultimate.

Since then it has only been the shell extreme/vpower racing.

Wont be looking back. Plus I get extra benefits having a 24 hour shell around the corner plus 4c off per litre, although I dont ever have dockets. lol

I have been using V-Power since it changed from Optimax but I haven't seen the racing one yet.

I have used this fuell for a while and noticed a slight improvement in response and power, but at the expense of economy.

Remember that the Racing fuel is less dense than 98RON and so while it has greater knock resitance, it has less bang per litre.

I find the best for my car is half 100 and half 98.

Initially found an increase in fuel consumption but after 2 or 3 tanks it had dropped back to, or slightly below, that which I used to get with Vortex98. It has actually now improved further. No doubt its quicker esp in the 2500-4000 rpm range.

I'm liking this stuff more and more. I think that the ECU has figgured out the different fuel and the car is performing better and better. The difference is now quite noticible.

You're right Johnnydad great improvment 2500-4000 rpm

Given the GT Spec B is tuned to run on 95 Octane in standard form will running it on 98 or higher provide that much of a difference performance wise changing nothing else?

Dave,

For this type of car, its detuned to run it, whether its best for it or not to run 95RON, thats another question.

Give the 98 or 100 a go and notice the difference urself. You will feel it.

For a $65K i wouldnt got any lower than 98, most new cars should run it anyways.

yeah ive tryed it.. she fuking flys in my RS hahaha on the way to work.. raced an ss ute and a ford xr6 turbo ute haha and yeeeeesh they got no where lol

defently goes hard.. no laggy or pingging either.. as most fuels i ping on
