BOV in full atmo?

Just wondering whether I'll encounter any issues if I run a full-atmo BOV.

Technically it's not street legal. I meant it in an operational sense.
I know Nissan engines can't run bovs on full atmo because the AFM will cause some misfiring and make the car run like crap.

run rich backfire a bit maybe attract unwanted attention from the po po, think that about covers it. I have run full atmos bov on previous car 06 WRX STI and those were the results for me. Lasted three months til I couldn't stand it anymore.

My nissan ran a full atmo. Nearly the whole nissan silvia club runs full atmo.

Some problems encountered were idling issues and causing my mates car to sometimes stall at the lights sometimes (afm readings).

Yeah not sure about issues with our engines but definately unwanted attention and thats the only thing other than a pod filter that a cop could recognise on your car for defects.

Pod isn't illegal.

EPA ruling says as long as the filter is a dry element and the engine is EFI, then it doesn't matter whether the filter is enclosed or not.

Checked that one already

In NSW the pod's are illegal, that's what Phill was getting at. :wink:

I am running full atmo, was running GFB but wanted a sound change so I got the HKS SSQ.

It went off anything from 1/2 throttle up which got irritating, so I bought a longer adjustment screw from Bunnings and put that in and tightened it. Now it really only "whistles" at full throttle which is a lot easier on the ear, and you can control it as such a lot better.

I have had no issues with idling, misfiring etc. Car runs fine.

lol Mick.. I don't even notice my HKS SSQV anymore..

It blows off even at 2k rpm shifts etc, but very silent, you'd need the window open or radio off to notice it.

I had some skyline behind me the other night when i was driving past pancakes at northmead lol..

It was an echo effect and messed my head big time.. i'd shift and go pew.. and then i hear this pew behind me.. and i'd shift to 3rd and i'd hear another echo @.@

lol.. but it's quiet enough that you won't attract attention if you're driving moderately.
