BOV DECISION

Hey guys,

Im looking at putting a BOV on my 2005 GT and just wanted to see if anyone has had any experience with the one im looking at? Im looking at the Tial 50mm Bov.

In the video the BOV is on a WRX but my question is, will this BOV be able to fit onto a 2005 LIB GT? And also, has anyone used this particular one?

I really like the flutter sound, so maybe if someone has used a different BOV with a similar sound could you let me know which one?

doesn't work tried it last night i think its the turbo we run. i done it to a lil' cousins evo last night and it worked awsome.who knows how long it will last for him thou

I finally got the shits with the flutter in mine and fitted a plumb back BOV, it is bliss. I can drive and worry about what revs I change gears at ect. I should add that I have front mount, which makes for a lot more air going back through the turbo.
To the OP, from experience, you will get tired of BOV noise and flutter rather quickly, stay stock. Less attention is better.
Less cops looking at Liberty's making sick bro noises the longer guys like Gambit can keep driving around unnoticed in lunatic mobiles.

I believe that was a joke aimed at the fact the flutter sound of air going back into the turbo isn't good, and that no bov at all would achieve air going back into the turbo.

There are too schools of though on it. I won't elaborate too much on that as it is fairly obvious what I am on about. But I would have to assume that it wouldn't be good for the turbo. I know my car is a lot smoother to drive under all conditions now.
In short, leave the BOV stock and plumbed back until such as time as you are running enough boost to make the stocker leak/redundant.

Over 6 years and 3 different Subaru forums, i have NEVER head a turbo failing from fluttering. Only turbo fails i have heard are from silly overboosting, old turbos shearing the compressor off because they are dinosaurs and oil seals giving it up. And the occasional wastegate siezure.

With a TMIC it sounds silly anyway. With a FMIC you can tighten up the bov so with low RPM's it will flutter a bit but once higher boost is reached, it just opens fully as normal. Pretty much 30/70 low boost/highboost.

You soon get over it anyway.
