Will mount just in front of the firewall, pretty much in the region at the back of the large black box that connect to the TB. Will be some pipework to sort out the connection to TB

With the BIG freeze going on in Europe I see Bulgaria has bad cold conditions

I asked our friend there with his Supercharged Outback to send some pictures if possible, hope we get some ......

OK we have big freeze pics

See the Outback 3.0 H6 Supercharged in -15 to -25 conditions - I think the owner overpowered it a bit somehow :D

http://www.subaruclubbg.com/forum/viewt ... 40#p132701

Here is link from recent Subaru club meet we made national meeting at belmeken rally snow track :)there was 1meter snow -15 -25 oC.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEueYW3o ... _embedded#! These are the conditions the Outback with Raptor is working well in!

I doubt he ever needs intercooler :)

Its one of those countrys where Subaru is the perfect car for the conditions. No wonder Subaru like to keep plenty engine bay heat!

The customer from Bulgaria also had this to say in his email to me

however i made exhaust generation on 70mm pipe,(removed the catalyst converter too)there is so big difference.the car before was like clogged, and now is perfect.the flat six noise is unique combined with supercharger whistle.the power is palpable more.i will see at dyno power differnce(before 200kw wheel)

This Outback is really going to rip nicely

Raptor Note: So glad we went with fully sealed SC for the H6 kit for global customers, it can work in every climatic condition easily, the very low temp conditions are some of the most difficult of all.

When I create the new under tray I propose to stick sound deadener to it on the topside.

It should be a nice piece with some properties to reduce reflected sound off the pavement and to significantly enhance airflow around the lower part of the engine as is desired

Not sure how many Australian Subaru owners are aware of this little Qld Company

http://www.sunspares.com.au/sunspares_i ... ismantling

They have everything Subaru!

Also for those considering an all out engine build - PISTONS

H6 forged pistons are nearly impossible to source in standard compression ratio - Not a problem

http://www.specialpistonservices.com/

Simply send SPS one of your original pistons from a low km engine and presto in a couple of weeks you will have highest quality forged pistons with rings and Gudgeons supplied. Any compression ratio is yours for the asking - no need to settle for ridicously low comp ratio imported pistons which are cheap enough but useless for low to medium boost supercharging.

SPS would be looking to take something around AUD$ 1600 from your wallet

They have been supplying my Mitsubishi Magna customers with pistons for years now - perfect and faultless in every respect. I do recommend SPS based on this experience

Tim,
I removed my under tray at the last service and I do get some more noise from the engine bay. I can also notice the belt squeak even more. What is your recommended squeaky belt treatment?

Squeaky belt treatment

First thing is to check by eye how the belt is aproaching and leaving each idler pulley (the smooth one mostly)

Squeaking is most usually the belt trying to move fractionally across a pulley while it is running.

If the belt appears to be running onto an idler at even the slightest bit out of square - this will induce a sqeak

New belt will cure it for a while but it would return normally

Final thing is to be certain all pulley bearings are happy

Tim,
nice to read. Do you have a photo from your modified undertray or can tell me which part of it i can take away for a better air circulation.
My thoughts about the temp things are, if possible to heat protect the headers (i think these are one of the greates heat producers) with heating shield band and maybe use the fog lights opening for air income - like for brake air intakes.

Checked under the bonnet and all belt over idlers are smooth. No noticable movement anywhere on the belt. While the engine was cold, no squeak either! Went for a 15 minute lap of the estate and then drove back into the garage and I could clearly hear the loud squeak from inside (windows down). Left the engine running and popped the hood. Used my stereoscopic sensor (a vital piece of test equipment) I located the squeak and it may be one of the idlers (one of the bunch of three that are nestled close).

Not sure if it is an original or one of the SC kit ones, but I will find out next week and let you know.

The idlers supplied with the SC system at the 2 idlers nearest the supercharger itself, the others are all original to the engine

Went in to STI@Docklands today at midday, in about 5 seconds flat (with a modified stethoscope) they identified it as one of the original idlers and said best to replace both. The surprise to me was that they did it the same afternoon and tonight driving home, all blissfully quiet! No issues with any of the SC kit supplied items.
