Hello from QLD

Postby Rossnall » Thu Feb 02, 2012 8:43 am

Hi guys, I'm looking at buying some form of Liberty in the near future. The model will end up being decided by the MInister of Finance.

Worst case scenario MY04 2.5i. Best case MY07 GT-B (good luck).

Most likely B4.

Name: Ross
Ride: Currently have Territory work car but wife's Jackaroo will be making way for Liberty
Location: Bundaberg, QLD
Mod: TBC
Plans: Not much, maybe some sort of exhaust and tune and maybe a couple of visuals (grill, etc)
Occupation: Manager for scaffold and formwork supplier
Year of birth: 1977
Interest: Cricket, spend time with young family
Previous Rides: Work cars recently, 4WDs before that. Earlier, RX7, dirty old 1975 Corolla for dirt road fun in my youth, old Suzuki motorbike.

Looking forward to picking your brains and sharing my ride when I get it.

Stay away from the MY04 2.5i, they are not compatible with any sort of OpenSource tuning software (like EcuTek or what-have-you).
Most of those MY04 2.5i (maybe even the 2.0R) had the Hitachi G8 ECU, not a very friendly tuning device

If I end up going NA it won't be getting tuned. Just a comfortable day to day for the wife.

Started with B4, then 04 GT, then 06 GT now looking at 07,08 GT-B.
Somehow moved from $10-15K up to $30K odd.

Think I may be getting ahead of myself.

You can pickup Pre-facelift GT premiums for <$20k

But definitely go the GT-B route if you can afford it :D
