Look, the reason Doyab suggested the original location is because we have to drive at least an hour to the majority of meets. As it is, Heidleburg isn't exactly close to us anyway!! We still have to drive 40 mins or so to get there. And the whole point of organising a meet yourself is so that it is in a location which is a fair distance for everyone. Why would Doyab waste his time organising a meet on the other side of the city where he doesn't know the suburb? The whole point of organising a meet yourself is so that you can attend!!!
There was no need to state the obvious, which had the obvious intention of stirring up trouble, which we all know the poster of that comment is notorious for.
There's no compromise when it comes to location of meets on here. Cruises excluded.
And as Doyab mentioned in the original post, he had another couple of people lined up to go too, and he also said he was open to suggestions, so if anyone originally had a problem with location they could have politely raised the issue.
In future, please politely ask questions before assuming facts, and don't hijack a thread to create your own meet when you know the original poster cannot attend. That's just rude.

Like I said he didn't have to cancel the meet up, I was just saying myself and a few others wouldn't be attending because it's too far. You can still have your meet up if you want to, also I didn't intend to organise another meet up, someone else has done that.

He was only trying to salvage the meet by suggesting a change of venue. There were too many 'maybe' responses and the underlying reason was the location.

Correct. I had put myself down as a maybe for the Heidelberg location as well. It's not like I was trying to force it somewhere else to make it easier for me, as I probably would have gone anyway. And still probably™ will if you un-cancel the original meet.

Jake, egos and personality clashes aside...

Is Mt Waverly too far to travel. It seems to be a good compromise. You'd come up the Monash freeway and get off at Blackburn Road. Would it be much further, or out of the way, to get there for you?

I'm only asking to try and get a meet happening where as many people can attend. And this wouldn't happen at Heidelberg, based on responses.
