New Install Going In for Retune Tomorrow

My car has to go in tomorrow and have the new system retuned as it has been run in. Is there anything that I should be asking for in particular? Or is this just a standard thing that happens?

Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question but are you asking about a retune of stereo settings or an ECU retune for a new engine?

It is usually standard, they just want to check over the stereo and make sure it functions properly after installation. they will just tweak some stuff on the amp to give you the best quality possible.

+1. However, if you want more midbass response, sub bass response, cross over points adjusted to suit your personal taste then let them know. Otherwise, it is just a standard retune to allow for the broken in suspension etc. You will be amazed at the difference once it's complete.

Who's retuning it?

Stereo is all done and sounds a bit better. They put the fader back to 0 and also turned the bass down a bit from what they had it. They said it didnt need much, I had the fader on 10/15 but will leave it on 8/15 and see how that goes,

It has to go back in a couple of weeks to get the steering wheel button set up for the ipod as it was set up for Radio, but the guy who usually does it wasnt in so, apart from that its ok.

Also with the fader should I just put it to full on the front?

That is subjective, Personally:...
I run my fader neutral because I like to hear everything. If your rear speakers are similarily speced to your front, then takeing them out of the equation will effectively give you a 3dB (almost half) signal loss above 100hz, thats pretty un-acceptable in my book, remeber that your "stage" is only dictated by frequencies that are physically smaller then the car's interior at full wave, so about 1khz and up, everything below that doesn't matter as much in regards to what direction it comes from as it is difficult for the human ear to pinpoint the origin of those frequencies in a confined space.

This of course is all null and void if you'r system has time alignment, in which case hell yes leave them on providing time alignment is set-up correctly.

Thanks for that coz I noticed when it was on 0 I couldn't pick which speaker it was coming from, when faded to the front I could hear the 3 ways

I like to fade mine 100% to the front. Fade/tune it how YOU want the music to sound. Just keep on listening and try to point out what u like more or less and get them to retune it again.
