Subaru Improvements?

Postby WhiteGTB » Tue Jan 01, 2008 11:11 am

Ever wondered "why doesn't my Liberty have that?"

Whats missing on your Subaru that you know exists on another car? I'll start.

- Inside the bootlid of a Honda Euro, it has a handle to pull the bootlid down.

- Heated seats.

I wish my sedan had that handle in the bootlid and heated seats.

What my Magna Sports had that I miss on the Lib, ability to close the fast glass after you turn the ignition off, tinted glass in the front, lockable glove box. Trivial things that enhanced the overall package.

ps. +1 for the boot handle!

When I give an opinion you have to ask yourself...what the hell does he know about anything!

For my MY04:
- Seat position memory (finally included for MY07)
- Dual climate control (included for MY07)
- Where's the audio controls on the steering wheel?
- No fold down rear seats
- Sun visor for the middle section, above the rear view mirror

For my MY07:
- Dual climate control: the ability to control both sides with a single knob rather than having to change the temp on both sides to the same temperature
- Foglights that sit on the inner side of the headlights: I think it looks more aggressive although it's less practical
- Better side support for the front seats (compared to the MY04 GT seats)
- Bring back the Momo steering wheel from the MY04-MY06 GT!
- No fold down rear seats
- Paddle shifts attach to the steering wheel rather than the steering column
- Sun visor for the middle section, above the rear view mirror
- What's up with cheap crap plastics for the interior?

Well I have an MY06 so some of the things like seat memory paddles and aux jack for iPod is now available in the update.

+1 auto lights
+1 heated seats

Others:
- Keyless entry with push button start
- Heated mirrors
- Lights in the front cabin when you open the car
- Bluetooth
- Self closing boot
- A big ski pod that doesn't hit the boot lid when you open it

I'm sure I'll add to this list shortly.

All I'd really want is the folding rear seats.

Better sound proofing. Speaking for my MY04 GT on all but perfectly smooth roads (which are rare) there's a lot of road noise. Makes long trips uncomfortable; need to choose the music carefully since anything on the quiet side can't easily be heard. This is where I laugh at the talk of Subaru being up there with the Euro's (BMW & MB). Don't even get me started on the quality of the interior carpet. So I guess I'm saying an all round improvement in NVH and quality of materials is called for.

Why be such a wanker and come out with stuff like that? Heated seats are a must in the snow. Maybe take your poodle there sometime.
