It's a better match for your goal of 200kw, in fact a 7cm 16g would just about do the job.

From all the advice I've been given a smaller turbo is better for the auto to make up for the lag we get (not smaller than stock, I just mean a smaller aftermarket turbo compared to the bigger more powerful ones)

I personally am not a fan of the mhi style turbos (the mhi being mitsubishi heavy industries) which are the manufacturers of the "16g, 18g 20g td04" etc turbos you refer.

Not because they are inadequate turbos (they are very tried and true).

But merely due to the lack of compressor maps and lack of information available regarding their flow capacity \ construction.

The 18g from all reports (no experience personally) will work with a 2.5 for mid to high range, and will be much better with the auto than a 20g.
