Hmmmm, burned the new one for my MY10 GT and it works.

Funny thing is that the dealer told me when I bought the car that putting the new disc in would wipe settings, stored numbers, stored addresses etc etc.

The only thing that was lost was the fact that it was daylight savings (or wasn't, whichever it basically changed the clock by an hour) everything else was fine

I was told that disconnecting the battery would loose any updates applied. I needed to do it to apply the handbreak hack and all that was lost was the radio station settings.

It makes you wonder doesn't it. If I ran a dealership I would make sure all my guys knew what they were talking about when it came to all the cars. If they didn't then they would find out for the customer or just keep quiet. I didn't ask about the map disc or anything he just told me but why? Why tell bullshit when no one asks?

Despite the bullshit and the complete lack of after sales love...... I still love my car ;)

Edit: What is the handbrake hack?

I'm getting bored of it... the rear window curtains I added after my trip to Japan weren't enough.

After the new year I'm getting the spanners out!

Think they are refering to the hack where all functions of the sat nav/entertainment unit work even when whilst driving.

It is very handy indeed and fairly simple.

Where can I find the info on the Hb hack and any other mods for the sat nav? Is it true you can get additional engine info displayed?

i Have dowloaded all the files, extracted them burned to Iso. At first it seemed to work. The are i lived in was not on my version but whith the new disk it had all the streets, but when i tried to enter a addresse the butten went green and that was it no next screen. i tried burning it again. tried dowloading again. tried diffrent disk. tried disk in open ended and finalised. only thing that changed was the map to choose states disapeared and reappered a few times. any thoughts.

If you have the 'dial by name' fix applied, you lose that. Dealer has to reapply it.
