Not sure if I'm missing something but why is he selling it so cheap when it only has a few grad worth of damage?

May have been deemed an unrepairable write-off?

Must be, damage from the pics didn't look that bad that's all.

Its a Stat Right Off so unregisterable. Thats prob why its so cheap. Doesnt look bad enough for a right off. Usually half the insured price of the car to class as a write off. So would there be $15000 worth of damage???

spot on (I think) If it's for sale, certainly possible insurance won't cover or the owner didn't have comprehensive. In terms of car not looking to badly damaged, the chassais may be bent (which would drive up the repair bill a great deal). Makes it a bit hard to guess these things without seeing pics of the right side of the car though

his insurance might not be covering him? e.g. crashed drink driving or something? and hasn't got the money to repair it.

would be worth while getting more photos of the actual damage or even just some decent pictures the chaise could be twisted and doesn't that pretty much make it reallyyyyy expensive to fix?

emailed him last night. The car is a stat write-off (unrepair write-off)

From the outside the car looks fine, but I can see in some of the photos, there is some serious chassis damage (looks like the chassis has scrunched up)

anyway, there looks to be more than $9000 worth of items there. Some rough conservative calculations are:

Brembos - $1500
Enkeis - $1000
Leather seats - $800
STi lip - $200
STi motor and box - $3000
STi dashboard - $400
Air bags - $400
STi struts and springs - $400
Bonnet - $400

That's so far off the top of my head $8800
