the new one is hell of alot cheaper to make.

same function, but also looks easier the get it to work overall.

Being a replacement stick isn't a priority.

I think I'm pretty harsh on bushes so I'll replace all that I can while I'm there with some urethane ones.

So.... I Have a lead on an 08STI (WRX) shifter mech (which is slightly shorter than a lib, but not as short as the "short"), can anyone confirm for me that I can simply swap them?

[Edit] Since the floor plans are different, it isn't a simple swap one for the other.

Hey Jaz, did you end up getting a short shifter? If so, what'd you go with?

No I didn't, I got quotes, but they were all to exy. I did upgrade all of the bushes though which made it lovely and firm, but more noisy.

If I was going to buy one i'd get
http://www.rallysportdirect.com/COBB-Tu ... ow-Shifter same as the one above, just cheaper.

And if you are after the STI one contact PHAT from the vendors section - forumparts@gmail.com

yeah i know, was just trying to help, as i was weirdly looking directly at them for the second time while reading this thread.

too much of my money will probably go to phat soon anyway. convincing people to give me cash for a dump pipe for christmas is more difficult than first anticipated haha.

Hey Jaz,
I got my Short Shifter from Troy at pro speed...
It's a Mode Racing SS. I love it, just like the cobb it's adjustbale with the throw and height...also its not that hard to install..

Two thigns though -1. You have to go underneath the car, and push up the reverse leaver up and put something there to hold it, until the new shifter is installed and the lock pin is in.
2. The lock pin is a BITCH, a REAL BITCH...

have fun :D
