Not sure on price, the seals themselves is pretty cheap, but it requires the front of the engine pulled down and the timing belt to come off. It's about a 2 hour job I'd assume, so at a dealer it'll be at least $200 labour and whatever they think they can charge for a couple of seals, so probably $50.
Built not bought, it's a way of life.

It's been rebuilt and I was hoping the guys that built it would do it cheaper as they didn't install them correctly, I think it's more like a 3-4 hour job, I'll ring subaru and see how much they charge, I've been quotes worst case would be $440 labor and 225 for genuine parts, I'm assuming that's belt with that too which I'd rather replace if it's had oil on it...

Well I might ask about that as it's only done 5k since the rebuild but I'm not the original owner, in saying that if they dont seem to want to help out with it I might not be back....

My wife's car had the seals done at the last service and it cost $400 by Subaru Docklands. It was done at the same time as the timing belt etc.

No the belt was another $650 from memory. But no it didn't include the belt. I remember I got a call at work to advise the seals were leaking slightly when they took the front apart to remove and replace the belt. They told me it was another 400 to fix and I okayed the repair.
