After a week and a half with only my laptop to get me through, I finally got the green light from the wife to buy a new computer.
My old one crapped itself (turns out is was the power supply) but it was a good excuse to upgrade.

Just got my 10YO son a new computer, bloody thing has a liquid cooled motherboard and graphics card its like something from another world. Quad proccessor 4GB ram etc etc and man is it fast. The cooling fans would be 6inches diameter. In Microsoft FSX you can see the leaves on the trees if you fly low enough........I want one too.

Note: This is a list for the 8800GTX, the 8800GTS(320MB and 640MB) are not as long as the GTX, they will fit into pretty much any standard size ATX case. The Ati 2900XT is shorter than the 8800GTX but longer than the 8800GTS so it should also fit into these cases.

I know his graphics card is a Geforce 8800 something

He already has a 22" monitor

As for FSX he has the flight yoke and pedals we picked them up in NYC for $275.00

He is having flying lessons so I guess in the scheme of things the PC is not so high powered.

If you cant spoil them dont have them

Yeah, I have the laptop for work, but this is my home PC, that I can DL all my TV shows to, with plenty of HDD space and it can run 24/7.

Ended up spending about $1200 all up with new LCD monitor, case, etc. All the things that I normally recycle when upgrading.

Ended up with a mid range system, E6750 Core2 Duo, 2G Ram, 8600GT graphics card (don't have time to play any games anyway)

Only parts to make it from the the old computer are some of the HDD's with my music and TV stuff on them.

The rest of the components that work from the old computer will be transplanted into the Media Centre PC in the lounge for some much needed upgrades.

That is pretty accurate as your going to get it to be honest mate..
The list is not up to date, you know how the computer industry is new parts every day..

I got that source from a computing forum that im registered too..

Best bunch of computer geeks ever, i learn't a hell of a lot from there.. then i started building and modding my pc and my mates pc's..

Im quite over it because i spend so much moneys and it gets outdated in a month or 2, expensive hobby
