Hey "cruisn" do you have a high def picture of your avatar? Very nice.

You would be surprised how decent the GT 316mm brakes can be. But yes Brembo's (especially Mark's old one's) look nothing short of sex
On the road you need no more braking power than the 2 pot sliding calipers on the GT's. A set of higher temp pads sets you up for serious braking performance. Your tyres are the limiting factor when stopping anyway unless you're stopping from high speed continuously (e.g trackwork)

You also don't need most of the mods we do on our GT's but thats the fun part! Decent tyres are just as important as decent brakes as mentioned.

I noticed the difference when I went back from the Brembo's to the stock brakes.

Even if you dont need the extra braking of them.........

Theyre porn!

cruisn wrote:So what are you going to do when you get a flat? Do you have a spare wheel that clears Brembo's already?

Its peace of mind for an extra $160.

In a manner of speaking, you're already carrying two spares - the back wheels! :)

It's extra effort, but couldn't you pull a wheel off the back to replace a flat front and then put the stock spare wheel on the back and still clear the rear calipers? There appears to be a lot more clearance on the front side of the rears than the front calipers?

Happy to be corrected if wrong.
I was going to procrastinate, but I put it off...

Yes the stock spare will clear the rear 2 pots easily.

Id still pay the $160 for the spare. Saves doing the same job twice (what if its raining) and they sell so easily when you part out.

Just finished a set of fronts.

I strip and sandblast the calipers to remove all old paint so the new paint goes on fresh surface. Just have to refit the dust seals and put the new pads in. :D

Oh I don't doubt it. But Brembo's aren't only good brakes, they make a Lib stand out from the crowd. As I said on that FB it's like huge tits on a skinny chick. Something everyone will notice and appreciate. ;)

Cruisn you need to invest on a good camera to show off your work!
