Some wonder WHY you would even try to question the Phat GT . . .

BEST and first mod I did - worth every cent.

Does any ones knows, if a aftermarket shortshifter (kartboy or MODE RACING or so) will fit into the short thrower from subaru??

I didn't take any pics but i did use a very thorough walkthrough guide which had plenty of detailed pics in it.

It was from another forum - i'll try and dig up the link or I can scan the one i printed off and email if necessary.

It made it so much easier knowing exactly what to do and what to look for

If link doesn't work, just do a search on Google for "kartboy sti short shifter install"

That is correct and they are very different beasts. The Sti is actually the same height with a shorter throw - Kartboy (and others) are a cut down gear shift to shorten the throw.

I note cable ties are included with the Kartboy - noice :?

I would give anything to have a 6 or 7 inch taller gearstick in the lib, with the same throw length...Thats the shit dreams are made of.

I am looking to reduce the slop in the shifter of my MY06 B spec

I drove an MY07 and it has no sloppiness in the shifter at all - really good

Do MY07 bushes etc fit the MY06 - part numbers? Advice?

Just put new bushes in dude.

Not hard. Go to subaru, pick the bushes you want from their parts diagram, pay the 20 or 40 or 60 dollars or whatever it is, and go put em in. Could not be simpler, and the stock bushes are excellent.

The STI 6spd mechanism doesnt include all the pivot bushes that wear out, so you have to do it anyway.

OK

So its a common enough thing for the bushes to be sloppy around 120 000km?
