Thats awesome! How are you approaching that? Just taking the chrome Badge mount off and clipping the mesh onto the back of the stock mount? Id be keen, i tend to be good at that sort of stuff. Do you have any pics of yours? ahh youve got me excited dude!

hmmm yeh, i think the white is more classy anyways, and iv got white interior lights so itd all match, blue is a bit try hard. Just wanna put 18s on it, maybe lower and grille with a lip, no point doing performance mods to the 2litre i dont think, fast enough;) haha [not]

well funds are keeping me back right now, being a first year apprentice and still paying my car off, mods are fair and few between but my plans mainly will be some new rims, then maybe some mars LED style tail lights, new grille/front lip, then might drop it

Use a stock grill, and cut out all the fins in the middle with a dremel.. Bit of sanding & painting and bobs your uncle!! The mesh just wraps around the back of the grill

Im in a simlar boat, its at the point where i can afford all the stuff but i feel like i needa get some more fundage for security reasons before i go spending big!

Hmm, youll have to send me some pics of the finished product! Sounds pretty good though, only thing is id like my car to be able to be returned fully stock for resale reasons!

So I haven't finished yet because Sydney weather today wasn't so kind - rain and humidity and the like (not to mention an ever so slight hangover & 'company' which meant I didn't get up till late ) but here is a picture in primer.. Bit of a sand with some finer sandpaper and I'll be good to paint then..

Wow dude that looks awesome! you have done an amazing job! i dont think i have the sanding and priming skills required though! Haha, you must've been in a good mood that morning;) Question, i want to do something different, so i was thinking if i got a custom made chrome badge about 150 mm long saying Liberated in fancy writing, would that be gay? if i put it on the grille, the idea is that youd have to be real close to read it, and from afar it would just look like a chrome badge. Thoughts? Im getting a quote but havnt made my decision!

I've never made anything like it before so don't worry about not having priming or sanding skills. I find that it's more about patience and detail because a scratched up grill from shitty sanding will look bad, especially being painted black. You could say I was in an excitable mood I guess lol
Personally, I wouldn't go for a badge like that. It would look alright I reckon just not my taste.

on the badge it all depends how you go about it.. something along the lines of how it says corazon diagonally in the corner of there grilles is quite appealing to myself, similar to how you see people putting sti on the front corner of the mesh on grilles, it does look good nothing to oversized.

pete i think you should give it a go, its your car your taste but not everyone will love it like you

I reckon i will, because it wouldnt be readable untill your right up close, so i dont think it would look dorky, people would initial percieve it as being a company badge, yet if they ask id have a cool story to tell about MY liberty.
Just wondering if i do the grille myself or buy one, i think id do it pretty well, im used to using tools being a landscaper with carpentry skills.
We will see... either way you'll see photos of it all along the way im sure.

hey sean!
i bought a stock grill so i can build the new one!
You inspired me, now i may have a few questions but its pretty straight forward! I just need to buy a dremel! i was thinking of using a hack saw but that will create a rash on the grill frame!
Picking up this friday, hopefully be done next week!

Hacksaw blade will work fine! I found the dremel really good because I used a grinding block after cutting with a disc & it was easy to get level. I've found that there's too many imperfections after painting it black myself so am taking it to a spray painting mate to finish mine off in OBP & clear coat. Should look the goods when done I think
