Engine light and cruise control flashing.

Postby JDGT05 » Sun Oct 16, 2011 2:13 pm

Hey guys,

Recently did a few light mods to the car I have a 2005 liberty GT. Got them all done on the same day do can't figure out what or why it would be doing it. Basically what's happening is my engine light is on and my cruise control light is also flashing. Only mods over the last 24hrs was GFB blow off valve, got new rims and suspension put in and changed a HID ballast and globe.

Help!

If anyone has had similar issues or any idea how to solve would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

It will be the BOV I'm guessing.

If its the blow off valve how does one get rid of the issue then? Or do I buy a more expensive blow off valve?

First refit your stock bov and see if the problem goes away.

If it does, report back.

Did the re-fit and it still stays on. This afternoon when I still had the bov on it was off. Car seems to wake up in the morning and decide whether it wants to have that light flashing or not :$

Check your bov vacume hose. Make sure you haven't popped it off or ruptured it. Go to Subaru and get them to just read the code. First time I did it they gave pretty good advice and showed me where the issue was. Cost me 50 bucks but from that I could fix the problem. Next time I went there I specifically said just remove the code. They did it told me it was from running lean. And did it for free

You could try resetting the computer by disconnected your battery for several hours.

I did this when I disconnected the o2 sensor (the engine light and cruise control lights were on) so I simply disconnected the battery before I went to sleep and the next morning I re-connected the battery and the lights were off and have remained off ever since.

Getting a re-tune soon so have just left the thing flashing for the time being, will let you know how I go when it's all done!
