Is my car spitting at me??

Postby Jack_Keaka » Thu Sep 29, 2011 12:01 am

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has the same problem (not really a problem so to speak), my 02 RX spits water from the window washers between 4500rpm and 5000rpm at full throttle. again it doesnt seem like an problem but it is a bit annoying. any ideas??

Haven't heard of anything like that happening before.

I'm no mechanical expert & I know there are a lot of things that can be interconnected etc, but I can't see why full throttle would effect the washer jets.

haha bit of an odd problem you have there!

That relay should be completely unrelated to throttle.

At those revs and full throttle, there is a lot of vibration in the engine bay. I guess if the relay has an exposed cable that could touch another if its being shaken about and give a spurt of water.
its a long shot lol.

start by checking the wires and everything for the washer pump. good luck!

well most of the vibration is between 3k and 4k from the pod filter, so i guess ill have a look at the wiring. cheers

Is it actually squirting water, if it's just a few drops its because your taking off hard and the g forces in the jets is spitting it out, just like it pulls you back in your seat.

yeah it doesnt spray out with the same pressure as the washers, appears to just fall on the window. most of the g force is between 2000rpm and 4000rpm not 4500rpm and 5000rpm which is when it does this. it never changes when it comes out either which would suggest g forge... i checked all the wiring too and it appears to be micky mouse under there. guess ill just put up with it
