Gen 4 Rear Bumper - Broken Clip Common?

Postby Hybrid » Tue Oct 18, 2011 8:30 am

Hey all,

Just bought an MY08, its immaculate, however when I was at Dropz getting an interim service done, I noticed when it was up on jack stands that the rear bumper on the passenger side is sticking out right next to the rear wheel arch.

There is absolutely no damage at all to the rear bar or the surrounding area, just wondering if it is common for clips to just break?

I am going to sus it out on the weekend, just thought it was weird.

Updated with actual pics :)

There's scrapes on the bottom left hand side of the bumper, how did that happen? Maybe when you did that it snapped the clips?

Looks like an eyeless skull with the empty ocular cavities. Because I look at those so often.

Get someone with a paint measuring tool to check if the bar has been replaced and painted.

Previous owner of my car reversed in to a pole or something in a car park and did some minor damage, only way you can tell my rear bar has been replaced is with a paint measuring tool.
