what exactly was the issue?

The ECU takes only a few minutes to readjust it self and to be honest the zerosports pipe would make little to no difference on its own
Not a soobi anymore, but still slightly dirty

I think his TB STi only pulled something like 115kwatw, compared to pengas 145 or something.

Isn't that the stock figures though? I didn't think KOI had done anything big to the engine or exhaust yet? (other than JDM quad tips)

Stock is around 130.

Are you sure you actually fitted the intake hose properly?

On a happy dyno? Majority of feedback I got was ~115-120

I'm only going by what has been said on this forum a few times, but look at the figures from the dyno day.
You can spot the stock-ish GT's as they are all around 125-135kw on that particular dyno. And to quote Gambit, that dyno is known as "the heartbreaker". Wether or not that is true, doesn't matter, the fact is Will's car was still reading way too low.

Well someone else posted it elsewhere (in a public section of the forum) so not really anything I can do about it :?

just going off what the mechanic told me however i trust him well enough, but then im not going to pretend i know anything about what goes on under the bonnet...there might have been a fuel quality issue as part of it all but thats been rectified by filling up with a new tank and the car pulls great again...still in need of a tune though most likely...all in all car is back to normal...*phew*...

chaotic2050 wrote:Are you sure you actually fitted the intake hose properly?

yep all checked and verified...hose is intalled perfectly...

all in all car is back to normal now...im sure it was as a result of more than just a single factor but for peace of mind the car has been checked over thoroughly and nothing major or minor is failing...and in saying all of that the car is feeling more normal as compared with the dyno day...ghosts in the machine perhaps...

ok so maybe a stupid question but i might have found the diffuser i want...

is the rear diffuser area of the pre or post facelift wagon the same in dimensions to that of the post facelift sedan..?

to my understanding they seem similar as they both have the clean surface that continues on from the rear bar as compared with the pre facelift sedans which have the black plastic bit...

a picture always helps so am referring to the area underneath that is outlined by the line that carries over the exhaust tips and along the rear bar...if that makes sense...

any ideas...might even just bite the bullet and go for it if finances permit...

Loving this car. Pretty much how i want mine to look (just not as low).

Two questions.

1) Any suggestions on where to get the aero splash guards from (JapanParts has them, but at $400 for a bit of plastic!)
2) Any more photos of that White car a couple pages back. As i have the 08 sti wheels, im looking to spray them a similar colour, so wouldnt mind a few more photos of that car as a guide.

Thanks, and keep up the awesomeness on this car!

thanks for the comments brad..!

ok so answers below...

1...i sourced the splash guards from another forum member who was parting out and have just sourced some side strakes from another member who was parting out...best bet would be to contact phatgt and see what he can do for you...

2...the white car belonged to forum member whiteGTB...probably search his posts on here and you will find some more pics and the info your after...his car was a bit of an inspiration to me as well...

look forward to seeing what you do with your new purchase..!

ok so its been a little while since i last updated this thread...

long story short priorities have changed and soon after sorting an exhaust and getting a tune done i will consider the car finished...

i will be keeping the car for awhile yet but am over spending money on it...time to start saving for that elusive property...

i will slowly begin parting out a few parts on the car that i dont really see the need for and will throw them up on here when i find the time to document them...

i hope to stay involved in the community but time is pretty limited at the min with all things going on...in fact if i can find a cheaper 06 sti lib i might even be tempted to downgrade and go the mod path again but thats well down the track...

cheers to those who have followed my slow and kinda minimal build and a big thank you to those you helped..!
