I liked Rudd more, just seemed to be a more lighter happier better person than howard.. and that is something that i like..

id rather have a better person in power, than someone like howard.. or costello..

howard was getting too old, his ideas and ideals were too much from the past.. there needed to be something new, someone new, someone fresher with fresher ideas and stuff..

thats why i voted labour.

Tom, there's more to who runs the country than who 'seems nice'. Johnny may not have been the 'hippest' but he sure gave people like me more options to make my business successful. For the record I'm not an old fuddy either, I'm 33.

I guess we'll see what the 'Machine' can do for us... shouldn't be too long now before unskilled labour is paying more than what I can earn and I go to carry bricks for some faceless organisation.

The economy is not the only function of society. The economy is one product of a wide range of factors from education and training (run down by Libs), through to the environment (ignored by Libs).

By giving you more options do you mean the ability to make people work when you want with no option to refuse, the ability to dismiss people for "operational reasons" (read as simple dislike or whatever whim takes you), the ability to remove conditions that have been built up over the last century by the union movement that includes the 40 hour week, OHS regulations, child labour laws etc. All things that make a workplace less efficient, but humanise it and lead to a recognition that workers are human beings not just cogs in the machine of production.

So when all is said and done why not vote for the nice guy, surely it is better than having a mean spirited, backward looking ar#ehole who only cared about accruing power for him and his like minded cultural warriors.
