Battery

Original Battery just died, anyone know the dimensions of it? And have any recommendations on good dry (optima/odyssey) or wet cell batteries to replace?

I'm not sure of the demensions sorry. How much are you looking at spending? FHRX are organising a group buy of Odyssey PC1200's http://www.federalbatteries.com.au/PC1200MJT/ for around $375ish (about $100 off).

You could also look at Optima D35 and Stinger SPV44

highly recommend odyssey and supercharge, i have many friends that use odyssey and they work fine. only reason i went to supercharge is coz my optima screwed up on me (kept dying on me then finally just wouldnt recharge anymore) right after warranty period and there customer service was shit hole. im never going back to optima again. did a google search a bit after and alot of people has issues with optima as well. but then again up to luck of draw alot of people seem to have no issues with it as well. but personally after one bad experience with customer service + 300+ battery dying on me again. i aint going back with them. supercharge on the other hand very good quality hasnt died on me once works well for me.

Yeah no more than $200

That supergold is that the right size? Or is there a bigger one that will fit?

I have that Supercharge model. It's slightly smaller and almost 10kg lighter.

Hey Gambit, out of interest, how much $$ was your battery?

Is that a supercharge gold 610cca model?

Might be up for one myself very soon, mine's started playing up.

Cheers
Laurie

Optima batteries are good, you just have to remember if you flattern them, when u recharge them you have charge them with a regular battery in parallel. I've forgotten the reason why.

I like & have used the Optima Yellow tops... Unsure what the going rate is these days, but I'm pretty sure the model you want is the D35.

If you do a bit of a search you may be able to find my old group buy thread which has more info.

I recently replaced my factory battery too, it was a white Panasonic lead acid type, bought the same one as Gambit, Supercharge Gold, 610 cold cranking amps, the higher cca the better, $150 from Autobahn, very happy with it
