getting the car tinted 15-20% in the next cuple of weeks and am thinking of doing the tail light aswell. what do we think?

this may sound silly but how do they tint your lights, do they simply stick the tint on?

Well a normal car is tinted from the inside, so I'm guessing they would open up the tail light and do it the same way, but I haven't asked so am only guessing.

I would say they would do it one of two ways, spray tint or tint on exterior.

Either way you would get fecked over by your insurance company

Because if you tint your tail lights even if it's light it reduces the visibility of your brake lights. A easy reason for your insurance company to void your claim if your rear ended..

Hmmm good thinking . My insurance company has a list of all my mods though. Ill have to ask when I add the tink to the list.

Fully tinting taillights will cause you to say bye-bye to insurance, they won't pay out because it's your fault the person behind you rear-ended you since they didn't see your brakes.

Best option is the taillight film that Serge bought off me - looks good and doesn't affect visibility.

Not too dark, though - I was leading a BMW cruise the other weekend and I was sure the guy behind me never used his indicators - then I realised they had been tinted to an idiotically dark shade so that they could only be seen on a dark night away from other distracting lighting.

The gf got my windows tinted on my car for my birthday, great surprise and the backs are done in 5%, he (tint guy?) said he had this new tint that was still dark in colour but let's more light in than what 5% would prevously, not saying I'm get my lights done 5% as I'm no fool, but for lights it may work (letting the brake light out) I'll have to give him a call..
