hey there

Hey guys,

I've been reading over this forum for the last couple of months and have learnt alot about libertys in general. I have always loved Subaru's and have just in the past month purchased my first car! It's a MY04 liberty 2.5i 5MT wagon safety pack etd, at a great price I love it. It's totally stock so I'm looking forward to altering the aesthetics and hopefully down the track performance!!!! (dam p-platers :P) I don't have loads of cash so the mods will come eventually!

Mods I'm looking at doing;
Interior: gt stainless pedals
Exterior: jdm sports mesh grill, jdm 2.5i badges, darkest legal tint!
Wheels: 08 gt spec b 18's ( love rota g-forces but need funds!)
Exhaust: hitech quad mufflers
Suspension: want it lowered, ideas??

I'm the newbie here so please any suggestions on possible mods would be very much appreciated :) cheers

Mate,

My suggestion would be to contact Paul at Claremont Wheelpower, he has the Spec B wheels brand new for $640 for a set with Subaru centre caps (they are posted on eBay for $1000 for a set of 4 with tyres, mind you the tyres would be rubbish). Alternatively, put out a 'Want to buy' for the Spec B wheels here: viewforum.php?f=4 and you'll be surprised at how many guys have their second hand set lying around, I got mine for $350 off another user. You can also get the Spec B Bilsteins brand new from Paul for $500 pick up. After all that I'd email Michael (PHAT GT) at forumparts@gmail.com about getting some Tein S-Tech springs (PHAT edition), not sure what they are worth yet.

These are my plans for the next 3 weeks and should have you looking schmicko without having to spend an arm and a leg

Cheers,
Sean

Welcome. :D

Personally I dont see the appeal of the spec B wheels. They dont even look that good.

If you want something, dont settle for something else now, just save a bit longer a get the ones you want first time.

I did see them on eBay, was going to try get cheaper if possible, I'll try on this site maybe someone has a pair sitting there like you say, I also see you want the 'angel eyes' we must have the same taste! I emailed autojoy at parra last week, said they would do a set for $450, what do you reckon? Heard of anywhere else that does them??

I agree with cruisn, if you want rotas then get rotas mate. Don't settle for second best! Personally, I love OEM except for head units..

As for angel eyes - $450 is a massive rip off!!! You can get kits off eBay but I'm not entirely sure what size to get. I've got the guru of lights on the case hks180 (all things lights). If worse comes to worse I'll experiment with the eBay el-cheapo kits & see what I can get to work.

Do not, and I repeat DO NOT spend $450 on it

I'm just not 100% confident in pulling the light apart, we will see I did think $450 was abit harsh I guess now I know, steer clear!!

Led or ccfl?

Yea I've never done it before either, but I haven't done much to a car before too. I've done all the lights, head unit myself so you've just got to give it a go.

Hmmm I haven't compared the two much. LED would obviously be the better quality option I would say. Focusing on wheels, tyres & suspension atm

I agree, I don't like them one bit. But each to their own I guess
