Thanks Gambit - definitely a significant increase in driving enjoyment for sure! Should have listened to you all along and done these type of mods first rather than stuffing around investigating double din installs in the cubby and android tablet as a car pc (although that was probably the geek side of me having an influence early on in the mod process)... Might still look at these non performance mods down the track though. CC needs a break for now!

Just for you Hamish. Got home early today and shot another video. Not exactly the same shooting conditions obviously. I think there is a difference but not a major one... Have listened to both too many times to make a clear judgment call though lol.

Thanks mate... I'm pretty sure Michael has a Cusco rear sway bar and heavy duty mounts with my name written all over them... just want the bank balance to recover a bit first but don't know how long I'll be able to resist! Plus would also like to fix the rocket gasket cover first too

They may take a little while longer to fit now as Im getting the STi rims done darker hopefully next week and the rims I'm lookingto get to drive on while this is being done dont clear Brembos.

A quick update.

I've since installed some Cree reverse lights courtesy of Leo.
Rear Cusco sway bar and HD mounts courtesy of Phat. Self installed with a mate - it's been mentioned several times before, but the aftermarket sway bars are so much better than the stock ones. You can tell just by the weight of them. Car feels significantly better around corners now. I know that people install the front sway bar to eliminate oversteer but I'm enjoying its handling characteristics now so might hold off for a while.

Russell at Subievolution got me a deal I couldn't resist on some DBA 4000 slotted front rotors and hawk ceramic pads. I was seriously contemplating the dixcel gear but in the end couldn't justify the extra cost. This upgrade is probalby more than enough for my style of driving anyway (until I finally hit the track some time next year!). In the end it was probalby worthwhile that I saved the coin because on the way to getting these installed today I had a modification of a different kind done to my right front bumper and quarter panel. I was turning left at a roundabout and a bus was in the right lane turning right... I thought I left him plenty of space. I also did not move while he made his turn... Unfortunately his rear tyre (I think) managed to scrape along my front right side... somehow managed to avoid my mirror! In my annoyance I didn't think quickly enough. I should have followed and grabbed the number plate but didn't want to race after him (had to wait for traffic to clear to contemplate following him) and do someething stupid... then I thought I had the name of the tour company embedded in my mind but I must be getting blardy old because by the time I got to Subievolution (5 min drive from the scene of the crime) I had forgotten it!!! I *think* it's green triangle experiences. However, looking at the damage, I doubt there is a mark on the bus to prove anything since it mainly looks like a big rubber tyre has scraped against my car. Oh well, sh*t happens... no one was hurt... life's too short to worry too much about it. The only damage is cosmetic (and to my hip pocket for the excess because even if the tour company agree there was a bus there at that time, getting them to admit fault might be like pushing crap uphill).

Anyway, not the kind of photo I was hoping to post up in this thread but there is enough of a dent in the quarter panel that I think the job would be greater than the cost of the excess. Looks a bit worse in the photo than what it is I think - a lot of that black crap will probably buff right out (there, I said it lol )

That's what I thought Hamish... Some mild-moderate dents in the panel and the bumper, but definitely no more serious damage than that. Car still drives great. Crap like this always seems to happen when I have a trip planned to Adelaide - twice to my wife's car and now with a job interview coming up in Adelaide in about a month, this happens to mine! So it's not too much of an inconvenience... I just drop it off before the trip and pick it up straight after

Keen to hear what Willall have planned for you... superkeen on a tune next year as discussed. Will probalby do a TMIC prior to that. Don't think I'll go the centre pipe mainly because of noise concerns.

Ok... a bit of an update... moved back to Adelaide and wanted a local tuner so headed out to Willall Racing this week to get the car done. Huge thanks to Hamish for organizing the group buy on the tunes ... Martin has a fantastic workshop and some very drool worthy vehicles in the garage. He uses a mainline dyno.

My mods since last update include a hyperflow TMIC (Taylor's previous one), and the Phat S-Techs which he had on special recently. Contemplated a centre pipe (and am still contemplating that once the finances recover from the move and Christmas etc) but decided to go ahead with the tune first and keep the stock centre.

So with:
Hyperflow TMIC
HKS Legamax exhausts
HKS panel filter
Phat Dump pipe

The car got 149kw prior to the tune! Martin and I were both very surprised by this - the pretune run was done on a different day which was slightly cooler but I don't think that would have made a huge difference. Graph attached... big improvement in the torque curve and nice power gains with a massive improvement in driveability/smile on my dial. This *should* keep the mod bug at bay for a while I hope.
