It's kind of hard to compare the two cos I wasnt going from completely stock to the TMIC. The dump pipe was definitely more noticeable but for the TMIC to make such a difference after my car has already had other mods I think that's saying something!

Damn... my wallet was hoping you would say there was a negligible difference. Another thing to add to the list... Look forward to seeing how the splitter looks.

Haha that's the one that I picked up! Felt even better when another member said he paid $720 for the same controller off Phat a month ago :P

Which sway bars and brakes you getting?

Hanging around these forums is bad for my bank balance but am definitely getting a lot of enjoyment from the car now (and learning a bit along the way).

Going to go for the Cusco rear sway and heavy duty mounts (email fired off to Phat already)... Was initially just going to go for the dixcel m pads all round since I don't drive like a madman, but will probably upgrade the front rotors (dixcel SD) at the same time so an extra weekend shift here or there (or a better than expected tax return) and I'll probably fork out for the rotors too.

Good choice man. My car handles, brakes and just FEELS so much better with the cusco and dixcel gear!

Dump Pipe with STi Quads...if you aren't too fussy on performance there is quite a big jump in response you notice it straight away. The car feels more alive and doesn't feel as restricted, it almost feels like the revs are going to jump off the meter :P

As for noise, little increase. You can notice it a bit more every now and then, but there is not much more noticeable noise. Personally, the reason I'm going for the K2 exhaust is because I've been told it has a nice note and is not too much louder. I'm not a fan of big exhaust noise! I just can't wait for the increase in response ;)

thanks for the feedback rome..!

yeah am thinking at the moment i might just do the phat dump pipe with the k2 centre into the sti quads (special edition... ) and see how the car goes with those both performance and sound wise...if i want to upgrade afterwards then the k2 mufflers become the next option...

i need to get the rest of the engine sorted as well while im at it...

Rome I'm thinking of getting the process west TMIC as well.. Do you have any pics? Sounds like it's huuuge if it's bigger than the perrin one. What made you choose the process west one? Were you also looking at the hyperflow one?

Cheers

It's definitely wider, but I think the Perrin one is thicker. They would be about on par with each other I think, difference is the process west one might end up at a bit more expensive and is a bit harder to fit. It also means you can't run the standard engine cover, you either have to use a WRX or B4 one or cut yours in half.

In my opinion the process west one looks the goods, out of all the aftermarket ones I've seen I think it looks both sexier and better quality. In terms of actual performance, I can't say whether this is better than the other aftermarket options because I don't know.

And it was Phat who suggested I do. It makes it really easy to install a bolt on turbo as well apparently.
