Slotted Rotors

Postby Jim » Tue Aug 16, 2011 10:52 pm

Hey kids, looking more for advice on a decent bang for buck set of slotted rotors for the GT. Brakes are soon in need of an overhaul as they're feeling doughy and spongy so thought i would tackle everything at once.

If anyone has a set of decent slotted rotors lying around, or if someone has the low down on a good deal for buying new, that would be tops.

I dont need GT brakes, I have a set sitting here doing nothing. ;)

I'll supply you a ready to go, bolt on package, everything new. Then sell yours, plus you wont have to waste money on discs for the GT brakes. :D

You NEEEEED them behind those ST wheels.

How much would you knock a front set together for? Would the RS boys likely be interested in the GT 316's, not sure what theyre worth :? surely they would have better braking power than 4 pots?

I think $400 would be fair, considering your average set of 4 pots goes for that and the GT's are a bit bigger.

Are you only talking about rotors, or the entire GT brakes as well?

Entire GT front and rear setup in good conditon with good discs and meaty oem pads I wouldnt sell for less than $750. Fronts I would sell for $400 also.

Its an awesome upgrade for the RS guys. I whacked Gen4 GT f & r slotted rotors, braided lines and decent pads in my Gen 2 GT and it performed flawlessly on the track days I did.

My Brembo setup will come with refinished calipers that present as new, new slotted DBA rotors f & r, new Kartboy dogbones, new pads (Lucas, Ferrodo, etc) just the rear section of the rear brake lines are different, but I can sort this for you with options.

PM me. ;)

I been happy with RDA rotors on last car but the hub faces don't come coated so you have to paint if you don't want them rusting from day 1. Their gold passivated models don't have this problem.
