Hi, my name is Ian and obviously I'm new here thus the introduction post.

I currently drive a 09 FXT and a 74 HQ Kingswood, I also have a Brumby project. I have had a list of cars previous to the Forrester all of which are subaru's including another brumby, 92, 05 and 07 liberty's.
I previously worked at the Subaru dealer here in Townsville where I did my trade as a mechanic. I am currently working on a second trade as a boilermaker, after which I'll be going back to the mechanic trade.

I still do plenty of cash work for friends and family to keep the skills up. I am actually in the middle of rebuilding the EJ25 in the 05 liberty for my brother in law who now owns the car.

I have plenty of questions for you guys as I'm trying to learn the finer details of the Liberty, see you guys and girls around the forums...

unfortunately that its the only decent picture I have of it, pity we had to get rid of it really, its was a beautiful car and in excellent condition but the Mrs decided she wanted a forester and at the end of the day boost wins haha

no pictures of the 05 model, it was the same gen but pre face lift, first of the fly by wire throttle and is in a very sad state atm, looks like a typical 17yo male P platers car I regret selling him that car, but he is learning slowly that he need to respect his car and not let his mates sit all over it.

wont show you the 92 liberty as we all know what they look like and it was really only a parts car for my ute.

Finally the HQ, you may say "dam that thing is clean" or "that thing is straight" trust me its a long way from it, the whole LHF corner is bog, the respray is dodgy as and the rust is plentiful.

Here was a pic of my wagon, it was my first car and I sunk a fair amount of money into it.

That is horn, I love wagons, what ya do with it? I'm gunna do the HQ up as an SS replica but with a few custom touches like an ls1 instead of the small block.
My mates a die hard early Holden man, he's got a uc sunbird with a small block and his dad has a toner and his mum has a genuine HJ 4 door gts monaro and a vs statesman.

My mate with the sunbird wants a HG wagon.

I actually picked this up for the princely sum of my mums old magna wagon haha

Ive only ever owned wagons (bar one hatch).

I sold it to buy the hatch. It came to the point that I was going to respray it again and then put an injected 5.0l in it or sell it and I thought Ive had enough fun with it (and wasted a far amount of money) just sell it.

I love the SS HQ's to me they look better than the Monaro's. ( I worked for Holden for 15 years)

The family car is a Holden and in 2 years my current car the GT, will be sold in favour of a VF Sportswagon.

I reckon you got the better deal with the HQ over a Magna.

I would kill to have a wagon like that. I know what your talkin about with the wagons I just love the shape, it's very rare that I'll find a late model sedan that I like, the liberty was one of those exceptions.

The forester was a toss up between it and a VE SS wagon but in the end we couldn't afford the SS and the forester pritty much fell into our laps.

I get 30% discount off Commodores for life (part of redundancy package from Holden) 25% off HSV, SAAB and Hummer and less off imported Daewoo rebadges.

It doesnt make sense not to buy one next as much as I do like Subaru's. I resell after 11 months.

sell it to me, I want it lol. it'd make a rude daily.

My Brumby has been off the road about 5 years, one of my mates blew it up when I lost my licence, so I decided to do an EJ swap , 5 years later and I've changed my mind a few times, but have finally settled on the STI swap, but I'm going all out with a twin scroll 2.5, 6sp DCCD, Brembos and everything. Just gotta sell my bike to buy the half cut.

NEVER!!! I will take the Sherpa to the grave. Actually, if I ever have even a small accident in her, I will probably have to be buried in her haha!!! I have recently started driving to work (120km round trip) to see if it is cheaper than catching the train. Weekly train ticket = $57. Weekly driving expenses = $30 to $35 in petrol (approx 20L tank) + $5 in oil that gets topped up every Sunday.
