Legal Height of Vehicle is?

Postby WhiteGTB » Mon Nov 12, 2007 10:15 pm

Been playing around with my Tein Coilovers and man, I must admit that are great!

One major advantage with these is that it is height adjustable and I've been playing around with my ride height.

At the moment it is sitting 140mm off the road (from the chassis rail) at all for corners, looks perfect for my liking, but what I wanna know is if I drop to like.. ummm 120mm or 110mm would it still be legal?

its 100mm from the lowest point of the car................from experience and endless times for being pulled over.

Also if you ever see the police use this "standard issue note book" as a way of measuring............... its bullshit the note book is only 96mm wide. demand they use a tape measure. even better carry around one. i did and its saved me so many times

Why is that a bad thing? If it hits when it's 96mm, then you have no chance of clearing if it's 100mm. It works out in your favour if their "100mm measuring stick" is less than 100mm.

How is the ride comfort on the TEINs Trieu?
Also which TEIN coilovers did you get? i.e. what range?

2nd that

& to add to the height requirements debate

# 100mm to the lowest point of the car
# 600mm to the center of the headlights
# 400mm to the center of the indicator
# 400mm to the center of the park light

most cops know about the headlight rule, but it was my engineer that picked me up on the 400mm rule saying that not many cops know this rule & most cars that have the indicators or parkers below the head light are usually exactly 200mm lower then the headlight, but not my old TG Gemini.
I went to him knowing my car had the 100mm ground clearance & 600mm headlight height but he knocked me back on the indicator/parker combo being lower than 400mm (thats was when the car had springs in it)
