Removing Factory Spoiler

Hi guys,

Im tempted to remove my factory rear spolier to chase a sleeker stealthier look. How much work does this involve? has anyone done it? I understand ill probably need a respray, but does removing it leave holes or anything? All advice will be appreciated as always. (this may result in a factory spolier soon being for sale, EOI's welcome)

You'll have holes.

Best bet is to find someone who has a spoilerless bootlid and swap it over with someone else.

sigh, ive just looked endlessly through old threads on legacygt.com.... everyone pretty much has come to the same result... pay lots of dollars, do it properly. weld up the holes, respray the boot. The other option that seems to be popular is buying a new bootlid and getting it resprayed the right colour. All options seem excessive for the removal of something from the car. Highly doubting anyone with a pearl white gt would want one... might put up an eoi anyway. cheers

Yeh $550 for welding holes are respray

hmmm, hard to fill and sand yourself you reckon? lloyd from up my way on here has offered his skills and time for cheap painting prices, waiting to hear back from him. If i could do it for under $300 total id probably do it.

Don't blame you for taking it off. I came across soooooooo many neat Libs when I was buying mine all with spoilers & I think they look horrid!!! Get a lip spoiler for it

i know i know... wish the original owner of my car had gotten say... charcoal sti rims as an extra instead. looks like its going to be too expensive to get rid of it.
