Retractable Side Mirrors

Postby Rome_BRZ » Sun Jul 10, 2011 11:14 pm

Is it possible to do this on a liberty that doesn't have this as standard? i.e. mine?

I park in the garage at work, it's a narrow fit and the girls are always going down to get old files so every morning I fold the mirrors in myself! Yes I am that lazy that I want retractable mirrors!

Positive I read somewhere that JDM spec Libs have them.. Would need to run circuits and everything I would assume??

This is for the Gen V

Would have to assume they do them for Gen IV also right??

They come on the jap spec models. My 92 legacy gt had them. You'll need to find a set of the mirrors cause they have the motor in them and the wiring and switch which goes in under your mirror adjuster toggle

I wonder if there would be any mirrors that replicate my MY07 mirrors, I am determined to do this!

Phat gave ma a rough idea on cost last time .. from my memory think you will require new mirrors with motor .. and other bits and pieces ...

no dramas, japan parts have everything haha.

You will also be able to get heated mirrors with those if you dont already have them. Which might be nice this time of year.

It's overrated... I got it on the Evo, I played with it twice and forgot about it when I got out of the car :p

My dad's Volvo has it too. It automatically retracts when you lock the car, and extends when you unlock. Better than having a button in the cabin.

Well it's really a personal preference, I used to drive my dad's BMW quite a bit and always used it. His mirrors actually used to face down when it was in reverse so you could see the parking lines, that was quite cool!

Whether or not it's worth $1-2k is a different story!

Yeah the high end euro cars do that. They still don't park it for you.

I suppose it's similar to paying $1k for the rear wiper on my sedan. I reckon it was totally worth it, I use it every time I drive in the rain :)
