Hi mate, loving the black wagon. I'm missing mine because it is finally in the shop getting repaired at the moment. Thankfully have the father-in-laws 2007 Toyota Hilux SR 4x4 to play with in the meantime.

Any chance you could let me know a ball park figure of how much the hitech cans set you back. The mrs still wants a new note from the wagon. If you want to PM it that's cool, whenever you get a chance.

That sucks. Was it a stack or something mechanical?

Yeah sure, mate made the connection and said they'd look after me, but I've spoken to people since and I think I pretty much paid retail. The original quote was for a catback (<~$1400) but when I told him i eventually wanted a turbo back we decided to install the cans only ($1150), as the cat back would need to be changed out when the full system went in. The cost for dump and remainder was about $1200.

As I said above, ive heard of people paying as little as $900 for cans (gen iv). Someone from this forum with a gen v was in getting a catback the day before me too, so I'm not the only one running around with them on.

They sound good, slight rumble.. More like a straight six than the previous models because of the turbo location. At WOT you can really hear how restrictive the rest of the system is though. I need to finish it off, but I've been strapped for cash moving interstate. I think I'll get the turbo back done at xforce cos they're not far from my place, and i haven't heard any horror stories (yet).

Pm me your email addy and I'll fwd through my invoice if it helps.

All good mate. Thanks for that, I just wanted a ball park area so I know what I am up for when it comes time to swap the mufflers out.

My wagon is in the shop thanks to a car travelling in the opposite direction was sitting at a set of red lights on a right hand turn, he had a brain fart and took off while the lights were still red just as I was coming through the intersection and side swiped me. Not too much damage, and no one was injured thankfully. This was about 2.5 months ago and there were no rear drivers side quarter panels in the country so one was ordered from Japan. It took so long thanks to the earthquake/tsunami over there. Ah well, another week and a half and she'll be back.

From my research, expect to pay about 800-1100 for mufflers, or about 1500-2000 for a full exhaust. If youre never going to do a turbo back, just get a catback.
