Reverse lights not working -- gearbox switch?

I've done it with a stubby spanner, but normally we drop the back of the box to get a normal spanner in. One of the guys at work has a long combo spanner he bent so it acts the same as a crows foot lol (actually he has quite a few like this for various applications..... A good idea, but I don't have a long enough spanner, or a spare one for that matter.

And yes, I'm an apprentice Subaru tech.

So true,Bottom line is find the smart tech,open your mouth when required,ask as many questions and you will be fine.Remember the saying mouth in gear,brain in neutral .What dealer are you at?

I'm the guy who see's a sensor in the bumper so asks what it is, turns out its for the ambient temp reading.
I often fill my time between jobs by talking to senior techs and asking what they're doing or whats wrong with the car they're working on and what procedures they'll go through to fix it.

Hi guys, is this solution the same for an MY07?

I seem to have the same problem. Looks like they'll remain unlit for a LONG time if it takes this much to get it fixed.
